This story recalls three victims who were shot, and their shooters got away- found not-guilty in court. All part of a historic weekend in Chicago, where 40 people were shot, seven fatally. It seems the “no-snitching” code of the streets still rules the day. Three brave victims stood up for justice, but it wasn’t being served in a Chicago courtroom when their day came.
“You don’t go to jail for shooting people… That’s why m————- think they can get back on the streets and kill again. You feel me?” Dontae Gamble was quoted as saying, in an article by Mark J. Konkol AND Frank Main, Staff Reporters for the Chicago Sun-Times.
Not snitching, is, of course, backward thinking. However, nobody seemed interested in mentioning the other, real story here.
To me, the obvious elephant in the room is the fact that Chicago doesn’t allow its law-abiding citizens to carry firearms. Then they wonder why there are so many shootings. It’s because the criminals are the only ones who are armed- hello?
Criminals in Chicago have the freedom to commit robbery and murder, with no fear of the victim shooting back.

When the good citizens are armed, criminal will think twice. More and more states these days are allowing conceal-carry permits, because they have seen the results- crime goes down every time it’s tried. But Chicago is right up there next to San Francisco- common sense is non-existent.
If you want to see what Backward Times is, just go to Chicago and drive around the city. And while you’re there, pick up a newspaper and read the bad news they have every single day.
